Executive Director for the Institute for Innovation, Commercialization, and Economic Development, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED)
Elliot Reed, serves Northeast Ohio Medical University in three roles: Executive Director for the Institute for Innovation, Commercialization, and Economic Development; Entrepreneur in Residence; and as a graduate faculty member of the College of Graduate Studies. Prior to NEOMED, he was running two orthopedic-focused medical device companies as CEO for 9 years. Additionally, he served in the technology transfer office at Los Alamos National Laboratory and supported the translation of over 15 early-stage disruptive technologies. Over his career he has mentored and assisted in the launch of over 80 medical technology companies which have gone on to raise more than $40 million in funding and created over 120 jobs in Northeast Ohio.
Elliot serves on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation and chairs the projects committee which published the Ohio BOLD report to guide legislators and policymakers on how Ohio can be an innovation-led economy through technology-based economic development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Arizona State University and a Masters of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University.
